Tracks: The two detectors were one behind the other along the beam
path. Thus if a signal is seen in a strip in the first detector, a signal
should show up in the second detector on the corresponding strip. This should
show up as a 45-degree diagonal in this plot, and it does. The fact that
the diagonal is
offset shows that the detectors had a relative offset of approximately 8
channels, or 1.6 mm.
It is also clear that many channels never produce a good signal, or the
diagonal would have had uniform density from one plot boundary to the other.
