Procedure for gluing Si-MCM assembly to C-cage
Start with an assembly (i.e. Si - kapton cable - MCM - MCM output cable)
which has passed laser station testing.
This procedure outlines the details of gluing a single assembly to a C-cage. Gluing all of the assemblies to a fully or partially populated cage requires repeating this procedure 6 or 4 times, rotating the C-cage jig for each face.
Steps in the procedure:
- Prepare the jig and center the C-cage on the gluing fixture
This step is only for the first assembly attached to a C-cage and need not be repeated for later assemblies.
- Prepare assembly
- Glue bias tabs to silicon
- Form the cable
- Solder bias tabs to kapton cable
- Apply glue bead to Rohacell
- Align assembly to vacuum pickup fixture
- Connect assembly to gluing jig, and allow glue to cure
