There have been many studies carried out in the recent past which focused on finding
a suitable gas mixture for drift and CSC chambers. Y.H. Chang etal [1] of the MIT group and O. Kiselev etal
[2] of the PNPI group have extensively studied gas mixtures for CSC
chambers and this report reviews their work and looks for a probable gas to be used
in PHENIX trackers.
