Global Alignment Requirements

The spectrometer as a whole must be aligned to the muon magnet in order to accurately track through the highly non-uniform magnetic field, it must be aligned relative to the measured vertex point in order to project the measured momentum vector in the spectrometer to the interaction point, and the North and South muon arms must be aligned relative to each other if dimuons which go into the two arms are to be measured. In addition, if muon identification is added to the central arm then the muon arms will need to be aligned relative to the central tracking chambers.
