Open charm measurements from STAR

Recent measurements on the open charm production in d+Au and p+p
collisions at \sqrt{s_{NN}} = 200 GeV from STAR detector at RHIC
will be reported. The direct open charm hadron (D0, D+-, D* etc.)
reconstruction cover the transverse momentum range 0.1<pT<11GeV.
The non-photonic single electron spectrum represents an additional and
independent measurement of charm and is found to be consistent with
the D meson measurement within the present uncertainties. The spectra,
the derived total charm cross section and new insight into charm quark
fragmentation at RHIC energies will be discussed. Implications for
charmonium production in Au+Au collisions will also be discussed.
