Benefitting from the R&D made on Micro-Pattern Gaseous Detectors (MPGDs), we have built a dozen of muon telescopes which have been operated in various environments and in all the modes of muon imaging. Some of them imposed severe constraints on the detectors, and dedicated studies were performed to make the telescopes more robust and stable in time. These constraints culminated with the imaging of Khufu's pyramid within the ScanPyramids mission, with measurement campaigns both from outside and inside. Surviving to high temperatures, sand storms, tourists, dust and mice, these telescopes provided remarkable images of the unexplored core of this enigmatic monument.
