Mark Pitt from Virginia Tech on: The Qweak Experiment: A Search for New Physics at the TeV Scale Precision electroweak measurements at low energies provide an important test of the Standard Model, and they are sensitive to possible new physics extensions up to the TeV scale. The Qweak experiment will measure the weak charge of the proton using parity-violating electron scattering from the proton at very low momentum transfer. The experiment will be performed in Hall C at Jefferson Lab. In this talk, I will describe the experiment, its potential impact, and its current status. I will also give a brief overview of the current status of other low energy neutral current Standard Model tests, and an up to date summary of the status of strange form factor measurements.
