VIRTUAL Thursday, October 7th 2021 3:45 – 4:45 p.m. WEBEX Speaker: Carlos Paradela Dobarro European Commission, Joint Research Centre, Geel, Belgium Institute for Reference Materials and Measurements “Neutron data measurements at European Commission JRC-Geel.” Abstract: JRC-Geel is a major European provider of nuclear data and standards for nuclear energy applications. Neutron-induced cross sections are carried out in two the accelerator-based facilities, the Neutron Time-of-flight facility GELINA and the quasi MONoenergetic NEutron fast neutron source MONNET. Most of the experiments involve external research organisations from Europe and worldwide through the EUFRAT Open Access program or Collaboration Agreements. In particular, a long-term collaboration is established with the US NNSA-DoE on support of the Nuclear Criticality Safety Program. An overview of the results obtained from this collaboration and the JRC-Geel experimental capabilities will be presented.
