It's Almost Chooz Time: The DRAGON Reactor Simulation and the Double Chooz Experiment From the discovery of the neutrino to the precision neutrino oscillation measurements in KamLAND, nuclear reactors have proven to be an important source of antineutrinos. As the power of reactors and our knowledge of neutrino physics has increased, more sensitive measurements have become possible. One such experiment is the neutrino oscillation experiment Double Chooz. Here results from the open source reactor simulation code DRAGON will be compared to industry standards for reactor modeling. The use of reactor simulations in Double Chooz and the current status of this exciting new experiment will be reviewed.
