Title: "Recent Progresses in Relativistic Heavy Ion Collisions"
Speaker: Prof. Fuqiang Wang of Purdue Univ.
Abstract: A decade of relativistic heavy-ion collisions at RHIC have
provided us vast knowledge of the QCD matter at high energy
densities. A
number of novel phenomena have been observed. The recent a couple of
years, especially with the turn-on of LHC, have seen significant
progresses in our understanding of relativistic heavy-ion collisions.
However, there still remain several open questions. I will discuss
those
recent progresses as well as the remaining open questions. I will
stipulate the challenges in the upcoming years with experiment upgrades
and future measurements to address those questions and further our
understanding of high density QCD.
