The picture below shows the integrated interface modules test setup.
In comparison with the real system setup diagram shown
on the introduction page,
you will see that all the components except the interface modules which we
will first test, are replaced by the three cheesy cards, one ARCnet PC card,
and the generic test board. All the cheesy cards and ARCnet PC card can
be controlled by simple a PC. We can test all the interface card
functionalities, programming
xilinx chips, input and output of the interface modules, and communicating
with MCM, with this simple PC based system.
These cheesy cards will
eventually be replaced by the PHENIX standard modules and the MVD
MCM in preparation for a full system chain test.
