• Present Graphs on Long Term Cycling of a fully populated and partially populated C-cages

• Experimental Setup
  • C-cages from Environmental Testing were used
  • Cycling started in Middle October 1996
  • Cycled initially once a week between ~30% to ~95% R.H.
  • Measurements taken once a week until late Jan. 1997
  • Focus shifted to long term exposure to one environment

• Cycling of a fully populated C-cage
  • Shows changes in Width A's
  • Shows no weakness in the glue joint

• Cycling of a Partially populated C-cage
  • Shows changes in Width A's
  • Shows unexpected result of face without silicon contracts over the long term

• Conclusions
  • Mean things have been done to the Rohacell C-cages
  • No silicon wafers have fallen off the C-cages
  • Should try to avoid exposing C-cages to large fluctuations in humidity
  • Do not run the MVD in a dry environment
