1. Specifications and Information

1.1 The Contract

This contract establishes the procedures that Paratronix Inc. needs to follow while the Rohacell pieces are in their possession. Paratronix, by signing this contract, agrees to abide by all the procedures that are listed below for the MVD Rohacell components, which include Rohacell C-cages and cooling plena sections (See drawing of components). This contract contains all of the information and list of materials that Paratronix will need while they have the Rohacell components to be coated.

2. Rohacell C-cages

About 50 Rohacell C-cages will be shipped from the University of California, Riverside, Department of Physics Machine Shop. Upon arrival, the procedure described below must be followed for the cages. The materials needed for this procedure are:

Latex Gloves Plastic Ziploc Bags
Boxes with packing material to
send cages to Los Alamos
(may use the boxes that the cages came in
if in suitable condition)

Inside each box, there will be a sheet of paper listing the contained cages that are inside that box. Next to each listed cage, you will be asked to mark the condition of the cage upon their arrival to Paratronix and after the coating procedure. Slightly damaged cages (1 rib broken) should still be parylene-coated. Do not coat cages that have multiple legs fractured: mark their condition, return to box, then ship to Los Alamos with coated cages.

The cages can be identified by a number that is marked on one leg of the cage (See drawing of Cage for location of number). A sample packing slip is included at the end of this document.

The following procedure for handling the cages must be followed. The cages are sensitive to change in relative humidity and these procedures minimize their exposure to a changing environment.

3. Rohacell Cooling Plena Sections

The components for the Rohacell Cooling Plena will be shipped from the University of California, Riverside, Department of Physics Machine Shop. Upon arrival at Paratronix, handle the pieces the same way that you handled the Rohacell C-cages. There will be 30 Rohacell horizontal plenum sections, each section is composed of 12 pieces (See drawings), and there will be 8 radial plenum pieces (See drawings).

Use the same materials that were listed in the Rohacell C-cages section of this document. Once these pieces are coated, please send them to the same address listed at the end of the Procedure for Coating Cages section of this document.

4. Signature

By signing this document, Paratronix Inc. agrees to abide by all procedures that are listed in this document.
