We have demonstrated that the cathode strip readout chambers satisfies all of
the Muon Arm design requirements in a package that minimizes the acceptance
losses due to thick frames, reduces the number of planes required by a factor
of 2 over the baseline drift chamber design and offers the capability of
determining the r-
space point within
a single chamber plane. The efficiencies are greater than 99% with a large
operating plateau.
