Muon Identifier Proposed Layout

The following Muon Identifier panel layout scheme has been proposed:
To calculate the number of tubes, the following assumptions were made:
- tube width - 83.5 mm (from Ken Read)
- overlap of tubes 100 mm
With the above assumptions, one arrives at the following dimensions and tube counts:
- Panels A, C, F, and H
- Area: 5250 mm (H) x 4950 mm (V)
- Tubes: 118 (H) x 126 (V)
- Total tubes: 5856/arm
- Panels B and G
- Area: 2200 mm (H) x 3850 mm (V)
- Tubes: 92 (H) x 52 (V)
- Total tubes: 1728/arm
With the above one gets total counts as follows:
- Total tubes: 7584/arm (current baseline design has 9240 tubes/arm)
- Total panels: 36/arm (current baseline design has 48 panels/arm)
