In response to recent discussions at Sante Fe and at Oak Ridge, the event generator for beam gas interactions and the associated geometry package have been modified substantially. Tracking of the so-called "spectator" nucleons has been suppressed entirely, and interactions are now distributed over a much longer distance as measured along the beam pipe than was the case before. The geometry package has been modified to include some natural shielding, although approximations to the actual configuration have been necessary. Preliminary results for the effects of artificially introduced absorber will be presented, and a proposal for ending the simulation will be discussed.
