Attaching pedestals
Shown is the fixture for the small wedges, and the short pedestals.
... same for the tall pedestals (remove the spacers).

Also see the engineering drawings for details.

Here are some pictures from 2010

0. Bending (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) has to be done before attaching the pedestals
  1. Find ARclad glue sheet and high or low pedestals (inner and outer radius)
  2. Cut ARclad glue sheet to match the pedestal shape (see below)
Also cut holes where the alignment pins go.
  3. Remove the plastic sheet of the ARclay glue sheet on one side and attach
     the glue to the pedestal
  4. Top plate should be in lowered position (the brass knob turns and clicks into
either raised or lowered position). Put thermal mounts in position (each one
is located by the small precision pin and a larger pin)
  5. Remove the other plastic sheet and put on the wedge aligned with holes quickly.
  6. Turn on the vacuum pump
  7. Wait for 10 minutes and turn off the pump.
  8. Raise the top plate to lift the assembly off the alignment pins.
  9. Check the pedestal.
Cutting ARclad: the ARclad we used (from Adhesives Research, Inc.) was on a 1" wide roll.
