1:20 Scale Model

In order to get a better understanding of the complicated space that we will be operating in, I made a 1:20 scale model. The LHCb magnet is seen in the beam direction. The height of the upstream aperture here is about 2m.

The downstream side of the magnet. The opening here is *much* bigger, but this side is completely covered with detectors.

Platform supporting Scifi etc., and access platform on the rhs.

Also shown are mounting rail sets parallel to the magnet coil face, and the beam pipe support frame, which also defines the Scifi acceptance.
