2019 Physics/Theoretical Colloquium Thursday, June 27th , 2019 3:45 – 4:45 p.m. Physics Auditorium (TA-3-0215-182) Refreshments at 3:15pm Speaker: Dr. Denise Neudecker XCP-5: MATERIALS AND PHYSICAL DATA Los Alamos National Laboratory “How basic nuclear data measurement uncertainties impact application calculations” Abstract: Nuclear data are the bridge connecting basic nuclear physics measurements and nuclear theory to nuclear data application calculations. In this talk, I will discuss how uncertainties of basic nuclear physics measurements, such as the ones undertaken at, e.g., LANSCE, can significantly impact benchmark calculations representative of various applications of interest to LANL.
