MCM 109 timeline


History of MCM 109


  1. ?-May-99: arrival at LANL, visually inspected
  2. ?-May-99: at LANL, glue output cable to MCM
  3. ?-May-99: sent to Pace to install surface mount components
  4. ?-May-99: visual inspection, no problems reported.
  5. 12-Jul-99: at LANL, failed MCM QA test (2nd group of 32 channels dead, preamp problem).
  6. 9-Aug-99: repeat MCM QA, failed -- same problem (7/8 channels dont work, AMU/ADC problem) .
  7. ?-Aug-99: probe surface mount components, shorted cap on 2nd TGV (preamp) chip found
  8. 11-Aug-99: send back to pace to replace 4 surface mount components and fix shorted cap
  9. 19-Aug-99: inspect of surface mount components. No problems seen.
  10. 20-Aug-99: repeat MCM QA, failed -- AMU/ADC chips did not work, the previously bad TGV chip worked.
  11. 21-Oct-02: Quick retest: 1 good block for 1 minute, then all channels overflow. HvH & TS
