Notes about problems with MCM 192

MCM-192 was tested 19-Oct-99. It failed because the third AMU/ADC chip does not seem to work. For a single input pulse amplitude, it gives the "right" ADC value about 3/4 of the time. The other 1/4 of the time the ADC value will fall in one of three other peaks, which are each very narrow, but each very far (100's of channels) from the "correct" value.

The third AMU/ADC sometimes gave all overflows. This behavior came and went several times in the time (about 2 hours) the MCM was being tested. I did not try very hard to understand the problem. Perhaps a lower value (about 2.5V) on Vfb will work better??

It was also not clear whether the AMU spy lines were responding correctly. I did not see the signal shapes I expected in the first 3 chips, but I did not look into the problem very carefully.
