The stack consists of 4 radiators (red), oriented as shown in the drawing. The reason they they alternate left-right is to prevent a hot side and a cold side in the stack, thereby maximizing total heat exchange.

The plumbing consists of 1/2" copper manifolds, going down to 3/8" copper. The arrangement provides parallel flow through all 4 radiators, and the hookup to the 1/2" supply lines is symmetric, so the flow in all radiators should be the same.

The 'modified T' is a 1/2"-to 3/8" T, with the 3/8" side cut off at the collar, filed down and drilled out with an 11.5mm drill so that the 3/8" elbow fits right in, without a small piece of 3/8" pipe.
