STARTING AND MONITORING A RUN, fn866:PROCEDURES.TXT - CNB - 7/31/96

PDP11/45:
 
1) VME must be started before the PDP - standard PDP commands are:
   STARt, STOP, PAUSe, CONTinue, SHOW STAT, DISP OED 1 (or 2), 
   SHOW RUNS 2, DUMP RAW, DISP HIST xx, .... 

VME:

1) While the PDP is in the stopped state, type 'EnableTaping 1', 
   wait for tape to load, then type 'StartRun xxx' where the 
   run number xxx must agree with the NEXT RUN NUMBER displayed 
   on the PDP.
2) After run is stopped on the PDP, type 'StopRun' + 'DisableTaping'

FN789:

1) Login, type 'scan' to start scaler display

FN866:

1) Login, type 'showstat' to display run status
          type 'swic' to display beam chamber 
          type 'review' to graph previous values of any variables

DISNEY:

1) Login, move cursor to Page, hit return; with Mouse, double click
   on 'Select', then 'Page', then 'E866'
2) The magnets SM0 (ME6AN), SM12 (ME7AN1), and SM3 (ME7AN2) must be 
   turned on by Operations (x4532) but their currents can be adjusted
   by us by clicking to the right of the appropriate 'SET' value, 
   erasing it by backspacing over it, and typeing in the new value
   with a return.  The nominal settings for the 'SET' point are:
 SM0 (ME6AN): 0 or 2100, SM12 (ME7AN1): 2040 or 2800, SM3 (ME7AN2): 4200
